Winter 2009

As journeys have it preparations are always necessary. A journey at this time of year is no exception. This year's preparations seem more difficult than the previous four versions of return trip. Ever since we moved to the east coast, leaving all family and friends, for our grand adventure of adult life without kids, the need to return to that comfort of all that is known, has been the strongest of pulls each winter season. We chose one year not to go back and it was perhaps the most desolate winter of my life. Never again will I be away from family at Christmastime if there is a choice.
